About Our Models
When booking through Drawn From Life, you gain access to a variety of life models who are reliable, punctual, friendly and imaginative.
All models have received training and have experience of studios and art classes. Each model has a solid repertoire of poses to draw from, and can readily take direction as required.
Booking our Models
DFL was created to protect the safety and professional well-being of the life model – equally as important to artistic endeavour as the artists themselves.
Our models inspire and encourage all artists, beginners, students and professionals alike.

DFL models are punctual, friendly and most of all reliable. They come prepared and will have any necessary equipment or other items that may be of use in improving the aesthetics of a pose. Models will have a broad range of poses with which to fulfill the needs of a class as best as possible. Do not hesitate in making requests for particular poses but a model may reserve the right to say no to a pose that may be outside of their physical capabilities or makes them feel uncomfortable.
Drawn From Life encourages verbal interaction with the models during classes. Models are open to ideas for poses from students and teachers. Please don’t hesitate to ask a model if there is something in particular, poses or props, that you would like.
Models maintain the right of refusal if they feel a pose is too difficult, sexually explicit or simply beyond their capabilities. You may expect a similar pose to be offered in its place. A pose is normally chosen according to the length of time required.
As there are expectations of artists, art groups and schools to adhere to the terms and conditions set out above, so there are expectations of models to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Models can be expected to-
-
arrive punctually and be ready to start on time with any necessary equipment.
-
have a goodly repertoire of poses from which to work without needing extra instruction or direction.
-
be able to take direction from a group member or teacher.
-
maintain a pose for the allotted time frame.
